Philadelphia Phillies probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Atlanta Braves, August 29
The lineups are set as the Phillies open the biggest series of the season against the Braves at Citizens Bank Park.
The Philadelphia Phillies (78-55) host the Atlanta Braves (73-60) for what could be the biggest series of the regular season beginning on Thursday. The two NL East rivals will play four games, and with only 5.0 games separating them in the standings, this weekend will go a long way in determining the eventual NL East winner.
The Braves come into the series on a roll, 8-2 in their last 10 games. They have won three straight after sweeping the Minnesota Twins and have won five consecutive series.
The Phillies have been on a roll of their own, winning 9 of their last 14, a run that includes a pair of four-game winning streaks. Unfortunately, their most recent streak came to a grinding halt on Wednesday. Taijuan Walker threw another dud, in what could very well be his final start with the Phillies, and the offense got blanked in the discouraging 10-0 loss to the Houston Astros.
