Philadelphia Phillies probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, August 8
The lineups are set as the Phillies open a four-game series against last year's NLCS nemesis, the Diamondbacks, at Chase Field.
The Philadelphia Phillies (68-46) continue their 10-game West Coast road trip when they open a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks (63-52) at Chase Field on Thursday night.
Things may finally be turning in the Phillies' favor, now having won three of their last four games after suffering through a six-game losing streak. They took care of business in Los Angeles, taking two of three from the Dodgers and securing the season series to boot. Despite their 6-12 record since the All-Star break, the Phillies still hold a 7.5-game lead over the Atlanta Braves in the NL East.
If Kyle Schwarber keeps hitting like he did on Wednesday, the Phillies offense should be just fine moving forward. The slugger tied career-highs with three home runs and seven RBI in the 9-4 win.
The Diamondbacks come into the series on a hot streak. They have won four straight and are 8-2 in their last 10 games. They are 3.0 games behind the Dodgers in the NL West and currently hold the second NL Wild Card.
The Phillies won the first meeting between the two 2023 NLCS rivals. They took two of three at Citizens Bank Park in June.
