Cardinals vs. Phillies prediction and odds for Sunday, Aug. 27 (Here comes the sweep!)
The Phillies have taken care of business so far in their series against the Cardinals, winning the first two games by a combined score of 19-3.
Should we expect more of the same today when they have a chance to complete the series sweep? Absolutely.

Cardinals vs. Phillies odds, run line, and total
Cardinals vs. Phillies prediction and pick
The Phillies continue to start looking like the version of the team that went to the World Series last year. Their bats are waking up and they're gaining momentum at the right time. In fact, they're sixth in the Majors in OPS (.805) since the All-Star Break.
I see now reason why that won't continue today against the Cardinals, especially considering St. Louis is rolling with Drew Rom as their starter.
Rom's first start in the Majors was a disaster. He gave up eight hits and six earned runs in just 3.2 innings pitched against the Pirates next week. He has his work cut out for him against the red-hot Phillies bats, and I don't think things are going to go well for the rookie.
Aaron Nola starts for the Phillies, and he thrives this season when pitching at home. He has a 3.49 ERA in 11 home starts, and he'll be making his first start against the Cardinals this season.
It's a bold call, but I not only expect Philadelphia to win, but I think the Phillies will win with margin. I'm taking them on the -2 run line at +118 odds, meaning they'll need to win by at least three runs.
I don't foresee that being an issue.
Odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
