Angels vs. Phillies prediction and odds for Tuesday, Aug. 29 (Philadelphia stays hot)
The Philadelphia Phillies are on fire, but can they keep it going on Tuesday?
The Philadelphia Phillies can make it five straight wins today when they host the Los Angeles Angels in the second game of their interleague series on Tuesday night.
The Phillies are starting to look like last year's version of the team that led them to a World Series and I have no interest betting against them at this point in time.
But, before I dive into my bet a little bit more, let me tell you about this fantastic offer from BetMGM Sportsbook. For a limited time, BetMGM is offering news users up to $1,000 back in bonus bets if the first bet they place loses. That means you can bet on the Phillies tonight without sweating about losing! What a treat! Just click the link below to take advantage of this offer.
Now, let's dive into the odds for today's game.
Angels vs. Phillies odds, run line, and total
Angels vs. Phillies prediction and pick
The Phillies have to be licking their chops seeing that Tyler Anderson will be getting the start for the Angels tonight. He has a 5.35 ERA on the season and a 7.36 ERA in the month of August. Not only that, but he's also a left-handed pitcher and the Phillies have been crushing lefties lately.
Since the All-Star Break, the Phillies rank fifth in the Majors in OPS against lefties with a mark of .843. They're also batting .277 against them in that time frame.
Even if Anderson has a solid start, the Angels will eventually have to turn to their horrid bullpen. Since Mid-July, their bullpen has an ERA of 5.54 which ranks 26th in the Majors.
It's best not to overthink this bet. Michael Lorenzen (3.69 ERA) will have a solid start and the Phillies offense will do the rest. I'll take Philadelphia on the moneyline.
Odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
