Whether it is because they fired Rob Thomson or something else, the Philadelphia Phillies are on quite the roll at the moment (outside of the past two difficult games). Against all odds, the Phillies have managed to climb back to a respectable position in the NL East, though the rest of the division other than the Braves juggernaut being pretty bad has certainly helped the cause. Philly has a real chance to keep that momentum going against a surprisingly decent, but beatable Rockies team, but it looks like the weather is going to cause some problems.
A bout of strong storms are plaguing the East Coast on Saturday with a few games in real peril of just getting postponed altogether (sorry, Red Sox and Rays). While this matchup between Kyle Freeland and Aaron Nola is still pretty likely to be played, the weather did not hold off as hoped and we are officially in a rain delay.
Phillies vs. Rockies Rain Delay, 5/9/26: When will the game start?
Assuming that the forecast is close to accurate, there is a decent chance that this game gets played tonight, although we may be in for a bit of a wait. This has been a rainy Saturday, but there is plenty of incentive to avoid a needless doubleheader that could ruin everyone's bullpens heading into the new week. Colorado doesn't come around here very often, after all.
The current first pitch is scheduled for 6:30, and Phillies fans will be packing the concourse and concessions for a few additional minutes.
Today’s Phillies game is starting in a delay. Now scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

We will keep this post updated as more information becomes available. If there is an additional delay announced, you will be among the first to know if you check back frequently. Hopefully this game gets played, because this Rockies team needs to be taught a lesson after Friday's gritty, dispiriting Phillies loss.
In the meantime, you can catch a half hour of Flyers-Hurricanes and attempt to secure tickets to this week's PGA Championship at Aronimink.
