Update 5:23 p.m. ET: The Reds provided an update for Wednesday's game, with an estimated start time of 6:10 p.m. ET.
As the Philadelphia Phillies continue their season-long 10-game road trip, they are looking for their fourth straight series win on Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds. Unfortunately, the weather isn't cooperating. With the series finale scheduled as an early-evening affair, a rain delay is holding things up at Great American Ball Park.
Whether the Phillies will be able to play the final game in Cincinnati remains to be seen. The Weather Channel is currently forecasting thunderstorms and rain over the next few hours.
Phillies vs. Reds Rain Delay Details: Weather Updates, Start Time
With an original start time of 5:10 p.m. ET, the tarp stayed on the infield, and the game was delayed before the Phillies and Reds got to play a single inning.
The Reds officially announced the rain delay at 4:14 p.m. ET on their social media accounts. There wasn't a tentative start time at the time of writing, so we'll have to hang tight for an update.
"The start of tonight's #Reds-Phillies game will be delayed due to weather," the Reds posted. "We will provide more information as it becomes available."

Phillies vs. Reds Rain Delay: Phillies sending Cristopher Sánchez to the mound trying to win fourth straight series
The Phillies won the series opener 4-1, thanks to an eight-inning rally sparked by a hot Weston Wilson, before dropping Tuesday's contest 6-1.
Wednesday's pitching matchup, if we get to see it, will feature Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sánchez (11-3, 2.36 ERA) taking the hill against Reds right-hander Hunter Greene (4-3, 2.72 ERA).
Sánchez is coming off back-to-back quality starts against the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers, having won both outings. He threw a combined 14 innings, allowing just one run with 12 strikeouts and two walks across the two excellent starts. An All-Star snub earlier this year, Sánchez now carries a 1.08 WHIP on the season, with 151 strikeouts in 144 2/3 innings over 23 starts.
Greene is coming off the injured list to make his first start for the Reds since June 3. He was sidelined for more than two months with a right groin strain, according to MLB.com's Mark Sheldon.
