It is completely fair to say that things are pretty chaotic with the Philadelphia Phillies at the moment. After one of the most brutal stretches of bad baseball you are likely to see, Rob Thomson was fired (though he departed with class) and the Phillies are trying to reset under interim manager Don Mattingly. Their first game in this new era against the Giants went very well, but Mother Nature has other plans when it comes to Wednesday night's matchup.
The weather forecast all day did not look promising as a massive weather system moved into the east. The ideal scenario was that the rain would hold off long enough for Philly and San Francisco to get in enough innings for an official game.
Unfortunately, that did not happen. Even after moving the start time of the game up to try and avoid the weather, the storms arrived and the game was officially axed before we even got a chance to have a juicy rain delay.
Phillies vs. Giants Weather: When will this series resume?
If the two teams were willing to wait until late tonight, there is a chance that a weather window opens up. Zero guarantees that that actually happens, of course, and MLB officials decided that it was unlikely to clear up quickly enough.
Instead, the Phillies and Giants will play a split doubleheader on Thursday to finish this series. Rain-interrupted series between East/West Coast teams that rarely play one another are MLB's scheduling nightmare. In order to squeeze things in, the Phils will play the Giants at 12:35 EST and 5:35 EST on Thursday before heading to Miami on Friday.
Tonight's Phillies-Giants game has been postponed due to rain and will be a split doubleheader tomorrow. Game 1 will begin at 12:35 and Game 2 (tonight's rescheduled game) will begin at 5:35.

It's not like the Phillies were supposed to have a travel day anyhow, but nobody wants to play a late game when their afternoon should've been done and dusted by 4:00 EST. Oh well. Those are the breaks.
We will keep this post updated as more information becomes available, including any estimated ticketing information. If you've got tickets to Wednesday's game, you'd better clear your schedule for 5:35 PM EST on Thursday at The Bank. And who doesn't want to go out of their way to watch the 2026 Phils?!
Even Topper admitted he'll be tuning in from home!
