The new MLB Pipeline prospect rankings have been released, and one Phillies prospect has taken an unfortunate hit as he continues to battle injuries that have sidelined him so far in 2026.

Aidan Miller’s stock took a tumble in the latest rankings, as he fell from number 14 to number 31 in the list of the top 100 prospects in Major League Baseball. Miller, 22, has been on the injured list for the entirety of the 2026 campaign to date as he deals with a recurring back issue. Itwas announced last month that he underwent a procedure that will keep him out at least six to eight more weeks. This qualifies as a major setback for a player whose development has been impressive to watch since he was drafted 27th overall in 2023.

The news was not all bad for the Phillies minor league system, as two other prospects made the list, including one newcomer.

Two Phillies rise in the latest MLB Pipeline prospect rankings

Gage Wood, the Phillies 2025 first round pick, jumped from 66 to 55 as he progresses through his first full year in the team's farm system. Wood has spent time this year with the Clearwater Threshers and Reading Fightins of Single-A and Double-A, respectively. Between both teams, he has pitched to an ERA of 3.64 to go along with 69 strikeouts in 47 innings. His strikeout ability has been excellent so far, as he is averaging 13.2 punchouts per nine innings. With struggles from Andrew Painter and Aaron Nola and an aging Zack Wheeler, Wood could be a big part of the Phillies future for years to come.

Francisco Renteria is the newcomer on the top prospects list, coming in at No. 96 in his first appearance since being signed as an international free agent this past offseason by the Phillies. Renteria was signed to a minor-league contract with a $4 million signing bonus out of Venezuela. Still just 17 years old, it will be a while until he makes the big league club, but he has impressed early on in the Phillies Dominican Summer League affiliate. In 20 games, the outfielder is hitting .367 with three home runs and 16 RBI across 79 at-bats. Already 6' 3" and 216 pounds, Renteria possesses a solid frame that could place him as a corner outfielder once he arrives at the big league level. He also has blazing speed, as evidenced by his nine stolen bases so far in limited action.

While it is disappointing to see Aidan Miller’s stock fall due to injury, the Phillies must certainly be happy with the progress of several players in their minor league system.
