As the adage goes, you feel good, you play good. The Philadelphia Phillies are trying to get back to playing well, so out comes a familiar uniform. The Phillies will wear their powder blue uniforms on the road for Games 3 and 4, if necessary, of the NLDS in Los Angeles, per MLB.com's Todd Zolecki.
Normally, the Phillies would wear their road grays on road trips, but a nice surprise has come our way with one of the most beloved uniforms in all of baseball. The Phillies need every bit of good luck heading into Los Angeles facing an 0-2 series deficit against the Dodgers, and the feeling of wearing their powder blues should at least help a little.
Superstition is inherited when it comes to baseball tradition, although the Phillies claim it's just because they like the way they look and feel. Perhaps the superstition will just have to lie with the fans instead.
The Phillies are going to wear their powder blue uniforms tomorrow in LA. They got special permission from MLB before the playoffs began to wear them on the road.

Phillies will try to reset on the road to get back in NLDS before it's too late
During his media availability on Tuesday, Phillies manager Rob Thomson was asked if they were indeed wearing the powder blue uniforms after players were seen wearing them.
“We are,” stated Thomson. “We talked about it, I guess probably 10 days ago. Some of the players came to me because they like playing in them. So we had to go through a bunch of hoops with Major League Baseball just to get it cleared. Just to get it okayed by Major League Baseball that we can wear those on the road. They wanted to wear them so we got it done.”
The Phillies will wear the powder blues on the road in LA. They didn’t even pack the road grays. Rob Thomson explained why to @destiny_lugardo.

Thomson was also asked if they would wear them in Game 4 as well if they won on Wednesday, and Thomson jokingly said they didn't pack the road grays, so they would have to.
The Phillies were 6-1 in the 2025 regular season when they wore their throwback uniform. They're a staple of the 1980s era of Phillies baseball with the old maroon logo, name plate and number. They also have the maroon stripe down either side, with the rest of the uniform filled out with the powder blue.
Here's their record by uniform this season:
Red Pinstripes: 27-12
Creams: 12-10
Powder Blues: 6-1
City Connects: 10-3
Road Grays: 41-40
The uniform is a timeless look and a favorite in the city of Philadelphia. The uniform won't help the team play better baseball, but perhaps it'll give the team a little more confidence while trying to claw their way out of this hole they dug themselves into. The Phillies have their backs against the wall in Game 3, so they might as well do whatever they can to get the mojo back.
