The Philadelphia Phillies (29-18) and the Colorado Rockies (8-39) continue their four-game series at Coors Field on Tuesday. The Phillies did exactly what they're supposed to do against the scuffling Rockies on Monday, taking Game 1 by a 9-3 score.

It was a tight contest early, with Phillies starter Cristopher Sánchez leaving after six innings trailing 3-2. But the bats came alive with a four-fun eighth inning. Then, in the ninth, Kyle Schwarber did what Kyle Schwarber does.

The designated hitter crushed his 300th career home run 466 feet off the facing off the upper deck in right field.

The win put the Phillies a season-high 11 games over .500, leapfrogging them past the New York Mets in the NL East by half a game. They also passed the Los Angeles Dodgers and sit alone as the best team in the National League.
