The Philadelphia Phillies (28-18) travel to face the Colorado Rockies (8-28) at Coors Field. They're kicking off a seven-game West Coast road trip, that includes four against the lowly Rockies in Denver and three at the Athletics in Sacramento.

The Phillies head to Colorado a season-high 10 games over .500 and are 7-3 in their last 10. They swept the Pittsburgh Pirates out of Philly on the back of prospect Mick Abel's electric MLB debut on Sunday. The 1-0 victory brought the Phillies to within half a game of the NL East-leading New York Mets. Since being swept by the Mets, the Phillies are rolling with 15 wins in their last 21 games.

Sunday also brought the devastating news that top reliever José Alvarado had been suspended for 80 games for testing positive for a banned substance and won't be eligible for the postseason. It remains to be seen what moves the front office makes to shore up the bullpen for the rest of the season.

The Rockies come into this series 2-8 in their last 10. They salvaged one win in their weekend series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but sit 20.5 games out of first in the NL West. The Rockies have already fired their manager and have a whopping -144 run differential, with the second-fewest runs scored (152) and the most allowed (296) on the season.

The Phillies are 11-10 on the road this year, while the Rockies are just 5-16 at home. The Phillies already swept Colorado at home at the beginning of the season. They went 4-2 against the Rockies in 2024, but dropped two of three at Coors Field.
