The Philadelphia Phillies (44-30) and the Miami Marlins (29-43) will take the field for the series finale at loanDepot park on Thursday. The Phillies will be looking to secure the series win after taking Wednesday's contest 4-2.

Ranger Suárez continued dealing in the victory. The lefty posted his eighth straight quality start, lowering his ERA to 2.20 with seven innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts. Second baseman Bryson Stott backed him up with a three-run home run, and Alec Bohm kept on hitting with a 3-for-4 night.

Nick Castellanos made his presence felt in his return to the lineup after being benched on Tuesday for inappropriate comments made to manager Rob Thomson after being pulled in Monday's game. The right fielder made a game-saving catch in the bottom of the ninth on Wednesday to bail out reliever Matt Strahm and seal the win.

Before today's game, the Phillies announced that they had optioned utility man Weston Wilson to Triple-A, recalling infielder Buddy Kennedy and moving right-hander Aaron Nola to the 60-day IL.

After Thursday, the Phillies will head home to prepare for a big series with the New York Mets. They trail the Mets by just one game in the NL East, and a win tonight could see them enter Friday's matchup in a tie if the Mets get swept by the Atlanta Braves.
