The Philadelphia Phillies (23-16) and Cleveland Guardians (23-16) close out their three-game weekend series at Progressive Field with an ESPN Sunday Night Baseball matchup. The Phillies will be looking to secure another series win after claiming Saturday's contest 7-1. If they can pull it off, it will mark their fifth straight series victory.

Left-hander Ranger Suárez looked sharp on Saturday for the Phillies, bouncing back from a rough season debut last weekend. He baffled the Guardians over seven scoreless innings, holding Cleveland to four base runners and logging five strikeouts on just 82 pitches. His return to early 2024 form will put the rest of the National League on notice that the Phillies' rotation could be even better than first expected.

The bats broke a tight 1-0 game wide open with a six-run eighth inning. A 3-for-5 Bryce Harper led the way on offense. Despite getting off to a frustrating start this season, Harper notched his seventh homer of the year, a two-run shot as part of the eight-inning rally. The Phillies got contributions from up and down the lineup, with leadoff man Bryson Stott the lone starter without a hit.

The Phillies head into Sunday's finale two games behind the New York Mets for first place in the NL East. At 10-10 on the road, they'll look to go above .500 away from Citizens Bank Park before heading home to Philadelphia on Monday.
