The Philadelphia Phillies (10-8) will try to earn a split with the San Francisco Giants (13-5) on Thursday when the two teams wrap up their four-game set at Citizens Bank Park. The Giants have outscored the Phillies 25-14 in the first three games of the series after beating up Phillies pitching on Wednesday in an 11-4 win.

Aaron Nola got off on the wrong foot in the first inning, giving up four runs right off the hop. He finished his night going 5 1/3 innings, charged with seven runs (six earned) on nine hits, four walks and eight strikeouts. He's now 0-4 with a 6.65 ERA.

Brandon Marsh is out of the lineup today, as reported by MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, after tweaking his knee during an awkward fall in center field going after a strange bounce. He entered the game in the sixth inning, striking out as a pinch-hitter for Johan Rojas. It's just the latest in Marsh's horrible start to the season.

It has been a rocky start to the Phillies' 2025 season, but eerily similar to how they started 2024 — so there's plenty of time to get things turned in the right direction. They'll try to get some momentum going before they welcome the NL East rival Miami Marlins to town for three games over Easter Weekend.
