We've made it to the unofficial halfway point of the 2025 regular season, and the Philadelphia Phillies' major league team is in a good spot at the top of the National League East. However, this weekend the focus will be on the future, with the 2025 MLB Draft getting started on Sunday evening.

Day 1 of the Amateur Draft will see MLB teams make three rounds of picks, beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET on MLB Network, MLB.com and ESPN. Rounds four through 20 will kick off on Monday morning at 11:30 a.m. ET. Fans can catch these Day 2 rounds at MLB.com.

The Phillies hold the 26th pick this year, after making a third straight playoff appearance in 2024. It's difficult to know which way they'll go at the end of the first round this year, after making high school selections in the first round of the last five drafts. They're keeping their options open, per MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, and will make the call based on who's available when their turn comes around.

There's a heavy belief among draft experts that the Phillies will veer from their recent trend of drafting high schoolers and pick a college bat. Catcher Luke Stevenson from North Carolina has been a popular choice in recent mock drafts.

After the draft concludes, the Phillies will have to get their ducks in a row over the next couple of weeks by signing their new draft picks to deals well before we get a chance to see them make their professional debuts in the minors.

This year, the Phillies have a bonus pool of $7,849,400 to sign their draftees, with a first-round slot value of $3,492,200. They have until the signing deadline on Aug. 1 at 5:00 p.m. ET to sign all of their picks. Per the rules, they must sign all of their picks from the first 10 rounds, each of which has its own slot value; otherwise, the value of the unsigned slot is subtracted from their overall bonus pool.

Last year, the Phillies took Northville High School outfielder Dante Nori in the first round, signing him for $2.5 million, below the $3,228,300 slot value. They used some of that extra cash to ink their second-round pick, Freedom High School outfielder Griffin Burkholder, for $2.5 million despite a slot value of $1,352,000.

Tune in Sunday to see what the Phillies do in this year's Draft!
