The Philadelphia Phillies have a long, storied history dating back more than 140 years. Phillies players have won plenty of regular season awards over the decades, including the prestigious Silver Slugger Awards.

However, the Phillies might not have as many Silver Sluggers as you'd expect, considering how long the franchise has been around. The award has only existed since 1980, when Louisville Slugger (yes, the famous bat maker) created the Silver Slugger Award for the top offensive player at each position in each league.

This year, FanSided has partnered with Louisville Slugger to announce the Silver Slugger Awards. With the nominees and winners being revealed shortly, it's good to keep in mind that MLB coaches and managers vote for the Silver Slugger based strictly on performance at the plate.

While some of the franchise's absolute legends have won the award, there have also been some surprises along the way who you'd be forgiven for forgetting about. As such, these are the Phillies who've won Silver Slugger hardware up to now.

Complete history of Philadelphia Phillies Silver Slugger Award winners

Mike Schmidt, 1980-84; 1986

Of course Phillies franchise legend Mike Schmidt won the Silver Slugger at third base in the first year it was awarded in 1980. He led the majors with 48 home runs and 121 RBIs, slugging .624 with a 1.004 OPS (171 OPS+) and winning his first of three NL MVP awards in the process.

And of course Schmidt won it five more times, culminating with his 37-homer, 119-RBI 1986 campaign. His six Silver Slugger Awards remain the franchise high-water mark.

Manny Trillo, 1980-81

One of the more surprising winners, second baseman Manny Trillo also took home a Silver Slugger in 1980 as part of the Phillies' World Series team and then again the following year. In the World Series season, he hit .292 with a .746 OPS (104 OPS+), with 25 doubles, nine triples and seven home runs. His drove in 43 and scored 68 runs in 141 games.

Pete Rose, 1981

A year after helping the Phillies capture their first World Series title, first baseman Pete Rose won his one and only Silver Slugger (although you can be sure he would have won many more had the award been introduced earlier). Rose led the majors that season with 140 hits in just 107 games, while batting .325 with a .781 OPS (119 OPS+).

Juan Samuel, 1987

One of the Silver Sluggers you may have forgotten about, Juan Samuel was known more for his blinding speed than for a big power bat. He won his first and only Silver Slugger in 1987 at second base with 28 home runs, 100 RBIs and 113 runs while hitting .272 with an .837 OP (116 OPS+). He had 35 steals and led the majors with 15 triples.

Darren Daulton, 1992

Catcher Darren Daulton's lone Silver Slugger Award came after his outstanding 1992 season. In his first of three All-Star seasons, he hit .270 with a .908 OPS (159 OPS+) with 27 homers, 80 runs and led the NL with 109 RBIs.

Lenny Dykstra, 1993

In his eight seasons in Philadelphia, Lenny Dykstra won his only career Silver Slugger in 1993. Dykstra hit .305 with a .902 OPS (144 OPS+) that season, leading the majors with 143 runs scored. He led the NL with 194 hits and 129 walks. He hit 19 home runs, drove in 66 runs and stole 37 bases.

Bobby Abreu, 2004

After a decade-long drought, outfielder Bobby Abreu brought a Silver Slugger to Philly in 2004. In his first of two All-Star seasons in red pin stripes, Abreu hit .301 with a .971 OPS (145 OPS+), 30 home runs, 105 RBIs and 118 runs scored. He also swiped 40 bags in 45 attempts.

Ryan Howard, 2006

Ryan Howard won his only Silver Slugger for his remarkable 2006 MVP campaign. That year, the slugging first baseman led the majors with 58 home runs, 149 RBIs and 383 total bases, while hitting .313 with a 1.084 OPS (167 OPS+).

Chase Utley, 2006-09

Second baseman Chase Utley joined Howard in 2006, winning his first of four Silver Sluggers. He hit .309 with a .906 OPS (125 OPS+), with 32 home runs, 102 RBIs and led the NL with 131 runs scored that season en route to his first All-Star nod.

Jimmy Rollins, 2007

Shortstop Jimmy Rollins took home his only Silver Slugger in 2007, when he posted a career-high .296 batting average and .875 OPS (119 OPS+). J-Roll played all 162 games that year, also setting career bests with 30 home runs, 94 RBIs and 139 runs scored.

J.T. Realmuto, 2019; 2022

J.T. Realmuto won his first career Silver Slugger in 2018 while still with the Miami Marlins. The All-Star backstop followed that up with an even better year at the plate in 2019 to capture his first of two Silver Slugger Awards as a Phillie. He hit .275 with an .820 OPS (109 OPS+) and matched that in 2022 by hitting .276 with an .820 OPS (130 OPS+).

Bryce Harper, 2021; 2023-24

Three of Bryce Harper's four Silver Slugger Awards have come with the Phillies. His first in red pinstripes came as a right fielder in his epic 2021 MVP season when he led the majors with 42 doubles, a .615 slugging percentage and a 1.044 OPS (179 OPS+).

Harper also picked up a Silver Slugger as a designated hitter in 2023 and then again in his first full season at first base in 2024. He became one of four players to win the award at three different positions.

Kyle Schwarber, 2022

Kyle Schwarber has one Silver Slugger Award, which he won as an outfielder in his first season in Philadelphia in 2022. He led the NL with 46 home runs and while he hit just .218 and led the majors with 200 strikeouts, he posted an .827 OPS (131 OPS+).
