Philadelphia Phillies fans are desperate for the team to start making trades, as the current group has the core in place for a World Series run, but needs some auxiliary additions to really go for it. Unfortunately, the club’s tragic farm system doesn’t offer much to trade in exchange for reinforcements. Still, there are a handful of prospects that may entice potential trade partners enough to get a few deals done.
Aroon Escobar
Infielder Aroon Escobar has struggled at Double-A Reading this year, posting just a .640 OPS over 88 games. However, the Venezuelan is just 21 years old, significantly younger than the average Double-A player, and is in the midst of learning third base to go along with his usual second.
His 2025 season was excellent, as he put up a .774 OPS in 120 games across three levels, earning him the number four spot among the Phils’ top prospects coming into this year. If everything goes right, he could turn into a Gleyber Torres-esque bat-first middle infielder, which would make him a nice centerpiece in a deadline deal.
Ramon Marquez
Right-hander Ramon Marquez didn’t look like anything special coming into this season, but he’s opened eyes with a fantastic 2.02 ERA performance over 49 innings between Low and High-A. The 20-year-old now ranks among the Phillies' top-10 prospects, and could ride a solid fastball/changeup combination all the way to a big league rotation spot in a few years. He wouldn’t be able to headline a Tarik Skubal deal, but Marquez should hold plenty of value in a trade for a back-end starter or quality lefty reliever.

Carson DeMartini
2024 fourth-round draft pick Carson DeMartini is making the opposite trasnition as Aroon Escobar, as a natural third baseman who is learning second. The positional change hasn’t affected the 23-year-old’s bat one bit, as he’s worked to a marvelous .793 OPS in 24 games at Reading. His ceiling as a power-hitting utilityman could pique some interest as part of a larger package to fill one of the major league club’s many needs.
Bryan Rincon
Bryan Rincon may be the most obvious trade candidate among Phillies prospects, as the typically light-hitting shortstop is in the midst of a breakout campaign at Double-A. In 88 contests with the Fightin Phils, Rincon has posted a spectacular .857 OPS while crushing 13 homers, easily eclipsing his previous season-high of eight. Prior to this year, the 22-year-old was viewed as a glove-first option, and it may behoove the Phillies to flip him at the peak of his value.
Raylin Heredia
Slugging outfielder Raylin Heredia has hit at every stop on the minor league ladder, but for some reason can’t get any love on top prospect lists. The 22-year-old barely cracked MLB.com’s rankings by earning the final spot, but his lifetime .804 minor league OPS deserves better.
The Dominican spent the winter raking with the Australian Baseball League’s Adelaide Giants, and has carried that over to Reading this season with an .803 OPS and 17 home runs across 90 games. His penchant for strikeouts and mid-tier defense dampen his appeal, but he's the kind of upside play that rival teams would jump at.
