The moment that the five-year contract had been signed between slugger Kyle Schwarber and the Philadelphia Phillies, fans knew there would be more good times ahead. Schwarber has delivered in his four seasons in Philadelphia, and it's come in some massive ways. The Phillies got a cornerstone piece, while the fans got to witness one of the greatest pure power hitters the franchise has ever seen.

Schwarber has worked his magic on the crowd at Citizens Bank Park, which has made him a legend for years to come. He has the power to flip games upside down with just one swing, and he's done his fair share of that in his time in red pinstripes.

He's been a hero for the city, someone that the Phillies have leaned on in the postseason. Since he first joined the Phillies in 2022, he has become the leader of the clubhouse.

Players can't necessarily be viewed as a leader by Phillies fans unless they've earned it through their play. Schwarber certainly has, so let's take a look back on the five biggest moments of his Phillies' career so far. These aren't in any particular order, so you can decide which is your favorite.

These are the 5 biggest moments of Kyle Schwarber's Phillies career

1. His home run in Game 1 of the 2022 NLCS

The Phillies were making their magical run through the postseason in 2022, sneaking in as the sixth seed. They got to the NLCS against the San Diego Padres and played away for the first two games.

In his third at-bat of Game 1, Schwarber absolutely smoked a first-pitch 87.2 mph slider from right-hander Yu Darvish. The ball traveled an estimated 488 feet at a 119.7 mph exit velocity.

This makes the list just on pure amazement alone. Most baseball fans may not have even known there was a second deck at Petco Park before Schwarber drove one into the October night. According to MLB.com's Andrew Simon, Schwarber's moon shot was the second-longest postseason home run in the Statcast era.

2. Setting the single-season record for leadoff home runs

Schwarber had been utilized as the Phillies' unconventional leadoff hitter for most of his career before the 2025 season. He was the spark that the offense had lacked from the top of the lineup. His role became vital to the Phillies' success, with his ability to go out of the yard at any moment.

In 2024, he did it a lot. So much in fact that he set the MLB record for most home runs hit by a leadoff hitter in a single season with 14.

The outcome is a testament to Schwarber's character and the fact that no matter where he is in the lineup, he performs when the team needs him. His power is a game-changer, and using him as a party starter gave the Phillies an early lead plenty of times that season.

3. Passing Mr. October for most home runs in postseason history by a lefty

No surprise, the Phillies made another deep playoff run in 2023, and Schwarber slugged his way through October like a hot knife through butter. The Phillies took on the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLCS, and up 2-1 in the series but trailing 2-0 in Game 4, Schwarber was looking to cut into the lead.

Just like any other day of the week, Schwarber pumped one into the seats 409 feet from home plate. What wasn't known immediately was that Schwarber had just passed Reggie Jackson on the all-time postseason home run list by a left-handed hitter.

At the time, it was the 19th of his career, cementing himself as an all-time postseason phenom. Schwarber has now amassed 23 playoff homers in total, so it's safe to say that he's making it difficult on anyone looking to break the record.

4. Joining the 300 home run club

It was just a random day in May against the Colorado Rockies for the Schwarbarian. He was sitting on 299 career home runs, and there's no better place to play than the high elevation and thin air of Coors Field.

Schwarber could have done it at home, but he couldn't help himself, feasting on the Rockies' pitching in 2025. He absolutely mashed a 91.5 mph sinker 466 feet into the third deck in right field to join the 300-home run club.

The 300 home run milestone might seem like a low number compared to how many he has hit since joining the Phillies, but he has racked them up fast. Since 2022, Schwarber has the second-most home runs in the majors with 187. He had a career high with 56 in 2025, so now fans are on watch for his next achievement, which will hopefully be 400.

5. His epic four-homer game

There are few things more exciting in sports than a four-home run game. It's only happened 21 total times in MLB history and is truly a spectacle to watch. Given that players usually only have three or four total plate appearances, the chances are close to zero for a player to angle the ball just right to smack the ball out of the ballpark just once.

Schwarber took it upon himself to do it four times on August 28, 2025.

It was a special moment to pair with a special player. Exciting players show themselves in various ways, and the way that Schwarber chose was one for the ages. He finished that game 4-for-6 with four home runs and nine RBIs, a career-defining night on a warm summer evening in Philadelphia.

It's a privilege to look back on the times that made Schwarber's first contract to first come to Philadelphia so great. He passed career-long milestones, hit majestic home runs in pressure-filled moments, and most of all, kept carving out his story in MLB history.

Schwarber is a special kind of player and the Phillies know they have the right person in place. Fans can expect him to continue to have these kinds of moments in the future, where it only feels right, in Philly.
