The Philadelphia Phillies' 2026 MLB regular season schedule was released on Tuesday and there are some quirks fans will want to keep in mind when thinking about next summer's plans. The schedule also features a nightmare stretch for the Phillies thanks to a couple of unavoidable events happening in Philadelphia next summer.
We all know by now that the Phillies are hosting the 2026 MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park. Between that four-day mid-season break, plus preparations, and Philadelphia hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Phillies have a long stretch on the road from late June through mid-July, with just a quick trip home during that span.

Phillies' 2026 schedule features nightmare stretch wrapped around MLB All-Star Game
The Phillies hit the road on June 22 with four games in Washington before three games against the New York Mets at Citi Field through June 28. They get a brief visit home for four games against the Pittsburgh Pirates from June 29 to July 2. Then they're back on the road again for a 10-day, nine-game trip through Kansas City, Cincinnati and Detroit up until July 12. That takes them to the All-Star break from July 13-16.
If you're keeping track, that's only four home games in a 25-day stretch from June 22 through July 16. But that's not all the Phillies will have to deal with around the All-Star break.
The good news is that following the All-Star festivities in Philly, they get to hang around at home for nine games over a 10-day span. The bad news is that the nightmare stretch isn't over. During that homestand, the Phillies will welcome in the Mets, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees.
It's not ideal, but that's just how it is. We can lay the blame on Philadelphia hosting six games of the 2026 World Cup, running from June 14 through to a knockout game on July 4, combined with preparations being made to Citizens Bank Park to host the Midsummer Classic, per MLB.com's Paul Casella.
Phillies hosting Opening Day at home in 2026
After opening the 2025 season on the road, the Phillies begin their 2026 season at home by hosting the Texas Rangers on Thursday, March 26. They don't play their first NL East game until April 17, when the Atlanta Braves come to town.
As for the much anticipated Field of Dreams Game, the schedule currently shows the Phillies and Twins playing from Aug. 14-16. As Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports, the league will formally announce this game later. But you can expect a possible change in the schedule with the game played on Thursday, Aug. 13, with an off day on the Friday.
The Phillies wrap up the season at home, with six games against the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays. The final day of the regular season is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27.
