4. Seranthony Domínguez

It’s been a long road back for Seranthony Domínguez, whose elbow issues culminated in Tommy John surgery and the ensuing recovery and rehab. He finally returned last fall, and made one scoreless appearance.

But this spring, Domínguez pitched well, earning praise from manager Joe Girardi. He also expressed confidence in himself and said all he wants is to be able to contribute to the team. The bullpen will be infinitely better if he can.

5. Connor Brogdon

Connor Brogdon is a surprise on the roster, but after his spring training appearances, it’s not in a good way. His fastball velocity, which was in the mid-90s last year, was in the low-90s throughout the spring, and he struggled to get outs. It’s unclear how much he’ll be used as they attempt to figure out what’s wrong with him; he says he feels fine physically.
