Ketel Marte

If the Phillies could convince the Arizona Diamondbacks to relinquish Ketel Marte, he could do a lot for them.

Over seven seasons between Seattle and Arizona, Marte has a lifetime .287/.346/.456 line and .802 OPS.

The 27-year-old has over 500 appearances between second base and shortstop, and 173 in centerfield; the Phillies desperately need help at shortstop and in centerfield.

Not so fast, though, because Marte’s defense at various positions isn’t exactly stellar. Between CF and 2B in 2021, his Outs Above Average was -6. His -15 defensive runs saved was well below the league average.

Marte is under contract through 2022, but the deal carries a pair of club options for 2023-24, as well.
