Phillies star Bryce Harper sent a message to the Philadelphia Eagles after they clinched a playoff berth

2022 is off to a good start for Philadelphia sports fans, as the Eagles have clinched a playoff berth.

They won all three of their December games and kicked off January by beating the Washington Football Team. Nick Sirianni’s team has the best record of any team with a first-year head coach, and when the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers each won their Sunday games, it catapulted the Eagles into the playoffs.

Bryce Harper was one of many excited Philadelphia sports fans. He reposted the Eagles’ playoff post to his Instagram story to celebrate the team’s achievement.

It has to be bittersweet and a little frustrating for Harper to see a Philadelphia team clinch a postseason berth when his own Philly team just cemented a full decade without postseason play, especially after the individual season he had.

Harper led MLB in slugging, OPS, and OPS+, and tied for the lead in doubles, hitting a career-high 42. For the second time in his career, he won a Silver Slugger, Hank Aaron Award, and the NL MVP.

Phillies struggles aside, Harper has really embraced the city of Philadelphia and frequently supports its other sports teams. He recently went for a skate with the Flyers when they came to his hometown of Las Vegas to play the Golden Knights. He’s clearly committed to making this his second home; after all, he signed a 13-year deal to make it so.

Hopefully, the Eagles are harbingers of a successful year for all Philly sports teams.
