Well, being in sole possession of first place in the NL East was fun for the three days the Philadelphia Phillies had it.

They’ve lost the first two games of this series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Atlanta Braves have joined them at the top. Pretty incredible when you consider that the Braves don’t even have Ronald Acuña Jr., Mike Soroka, or several other key pieces. As with pretty much every game going forward, this series finale against the Dodgers is a must-win.

What Time is the Phillies Game Today?

First pitch today is scheduled for 1:05 PM Eastern.

What Channel is the Phillies Game on Today?

Phillies vs Dodgers Odds Today

The Phillies are +126 on the moneyline (bet $100 to win $126), while the Dodgers are -136 (bet $136 to win $100). Experts are still picking the Dodgers to win this one even more than yesterday’s game, which the Phils did, indeed, lose.

The spread has the Phillies at +2.5 at -195 (bet $195 to win $100), while the Dodgers are -2.5 at +150 (bet $100 to win $150).

If you’re into betting the total amount of runs, the over/under is 10.0 runs today. It’s -130 on the over (bet $130 to win $100) and +100 on the under (bet $100 to win $100).

Phillies Pitcher Today: Ranger Suàrez

Kyle Gibson was supposed to start Wednesday night’s game but was scratched from start at the last minute for Connor Brogdon due to bad weather. He came into pitch after the rain delay instead and gave up six runs (three earned) on six hits over 4 1/3 innings. This was his first start of fewer than five innings since Opening Day.

Ranger Suárez has been one of the most underrated bullpen arms in the game this season, with a 1.12 ERA over 27 appearances before Joe Girardi moved him to the starting rotation for the first time since 2018. Suárez has made two starts of three innings each, and has not allowed a run in either game. Of course, the Dodgers bats are considerably more powerful than the Nationals or Mets’ lineups, so that could change today.

Suàrez has faced the Dodgers three times in his career, and has held their batters to a .222/.364/.556 line, though they do have a .919 OPS against him. He has a 2.70 ERA over 3 1/3 total innings against them, and Girardi will need him to go at least three innings today.

The Dodgers have not announced their starter.

The Phillies need to win this one. You can’t go from sweeping two to getting swept at home when you’re in the midst of a playoff push.
