The Philadelphia Phillies brought in some new faces at the trade deadline, and at the last minute, an old friend.
Freddy Galvis is returning to the Phillies, the team with whom he made his MLB debut and spent six years. During that time, he hit .245/.287/.372 with a .659 OPS, 52 home runs, 233 RBI, and 43 stolen bases in 642 games. He had a 20-homer season with the Phils in 2016.
Since his first stint with the Phillies ended in 2017, he has played for the Padres, Blue Jays, Reds, and Orioles.
Of the few moves the Phillies made at the deadline, Galvis seems to be the one fans are happiest about:
Galvis wonβt be able to play for the Phillies right away; heβs currently recovering from a quad injury. He is expected to return sometime mid-August.
In the meantime, look back on one of Galvisβ epic moments from his first stint with the Phillies.
