Brad Miller is just the latest Phillies player having an absolutely absurd moment.

Thursday night, in the series finale of a four-game set at Wrigley Field, Miller, a nine-year MLB vet, did something no Phillies player has done in over a decade: hit three home runs in a game.

The last time a Phillies hitter had a three-homer game, it was 2008, and the batter was Jayson Werth. For context, the President of the United States was George W. Bush. The number-one song was “Low” by Flo Rida and T-Pain. The top-grossing movie was The Dark Knight.

Oh, and the Phillies won the World Series.

Miller is also the first Phillies first baseman to hit three home runs in a game since Ryan Howard in 2006, and the first Phillies player to have a three-homer game on the road since Mike Lieberthal in 2002.

Needless to say, Phillies fans – and the Phillies – lost their absolute minds.

Former Phillies GM-turned-color commentator Ruben Amaro Jr. was happy after the first two homers:

And even happier when Miller hit his third:

Miller is also now the Phillies’ avi on Twitter!

The best part? Miller’s family was there to see his big night!

The Phillies have been on an absolute tear this week, taking three of four games from the Cubs. And not only did they win, it’s how they won. It’s one thing to outscore the other team, it’s another thing entirely to stomp your opponent into the ground with a barrage of home runs.
