The Philadelphia Phillies offense came out in full force during Friday’s convincing 12-2 series opener win against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park.

All eight starting position players reached base multiple times, and six had multi-hit games — including Jean Segura who went 4-for-5 in his return from the injured list.

Among the other Phillies to log multiple hits included J.T. Realmuto. Along with two singles, the star catcher slugged a 416-foot, two-run home run to center field in the top of the eighth — pulling him to just one blast shy of an impressive career milestone.

Phillies Milestone Watch: Career Home Runs

  • Andrew McCutchen, 247, 3 to milestone

After hitting just one home run through 22 games last month, McCutchen already has three in May through seven contests. More than 200 of the 2013 National League MVP’s 247 career home runs came as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates, from 2009 to 2017.

  • Bryce Harper, 238, 12 to milestone

Only 12 active players currently have 250 or more home runs: Albert Pujols, Miguel Cabrera, Nelson Cruz, Robinson Cano, Giancarlo Stanton, Justin Upton, Mike Trout, Evan Longoria, Joey Votto, Chris Davis, Ryan Zimmerman, and Paul Goldschmidt. Both McCutchen and Harper seem poised to join this list at some point during the 2021 season.

  • Rhys Hoskins, 99, 1 to milestone

With 99 home runs in 437 career games, Hoskins just needs one more blast to become the third fastest Phillies player to reach the milestone. Ryan Howard hit his 100th in career game No. 325, while Chuck Klein did it in 390. Mike Schmidt — currently third behind Howard and Klein — needed 472 games to reach 100 career home runs.

  • J.T. Realmuto, 99, 1 to milestone

Forty of Realmuto’s 99 career home runs have come in a Phillies uniform, since the February 2019 trade. The team is 20 games over the .500 mark during contests in which he hits a home run, according to 6ABC’s Jeff Skversky.

  • Brad Miller, 98, 2 to milestone

Miller already has 15 career home runs with the Phillies in fewer than 90 games. He slugged 44 home runs while a member of the Tampa Bay Rays (2016-18), as well as 29 while with the Seattle Mariners (2013-15).
