A new batch of Phillies trade rumors have come across
The latest Phillies trade rumors have circulated around outfielders, and Jon Morosi of MLB.com says the Phillies have interest in San Francisco outfielder Andrew McCutchen.
Acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates during the offseason for two players and international signing money, McCutchen is hitting .253 with 10 home runs for San Francisco.
The 31-year-old hasn’t been the same player he was in Pittsburgh when he was a top-five MVP candidate over four consecutive seasons. He’s been on the field for over 100 games but has dealt with a foot contusion in recent days.
San Francisco remains 6.5 games out of the National League West race and six games out of the Wild Card entering Monday night’s games. They went all-in this offseason after having the second-worst record in baseball, picking up McCutchen and Evan Longoria in trades.

Philadelphia has been connected to a host of outfielders who have each passed their respective primes. Adam Jones of the Orioles reportedly rejected a trade out of Baltimore to Philadelphia, and the team has been connected to Blue Jays outfielder Curtis Granderson leading up to the deadline.
Either of those three or another veteran outfielder would solidify a very weak bench after Aaron Altherr was demoted to Triple-A. Roman Quinn currently occupies the fourth-outfielder spot after recovering from a torn finger ligament.
Jayson Stark said Monday morning on 97.5 The Fanatic that the Phillies would like to add a left-handed bat, and while that doesn’t cover McCutchen the Phillies would love his leadership in one of the youngest clubhouses in baseball.
Look for the Phillies to make a move for a relief pitcher if they can going up to the deadline Tuesday afternoon. They’ve also been linked to Jose Bautista and Zach Wheeler in the final 24 hours before the deadline.
