Here are the latest Phillies trade rumors surrounding Adam Jones

Despite the Phillies trade rumors surrounding Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, the likelihood Baltimore moves him isn’t great.

Jerry Crasnick of ESPN described the chances Baltimore moves Jones as “55-45” partially because of Jones’s no-trade right. As a 10-year veteran of MLB and having spent the last five years in Baltimore Jones has the ability to reject a trade.

Earlier this week Jon Morosi of MLB.com reported the Phillies had engaged in trade talks with the Orioles regarding the soon-to-be 33-year-old outfielder. Philadelphia’s front office is very familiar with Jones with Andy MacPhail, Matt Klentak, Joe Jordan, and Ned Rice having come from Baltimore.

MacPhail traded for Jones from Seattle in February of 2008 when he ran the Orioles front office.

Crasnick also mentions Cleveland as a suitor for Jones, who is hitting .277 this season with 10 home runs.

Jones would likely be the fourth outfielder in Philadelphia and platoon with Nick Williams in right field despite never playing the position. Aaron Altherr was recently demoted to Lehigh Valley and prospect Roman Quinn is likely to join the team after Thursday’s game in Cincinnati.

Quinn is coming off a finger injury that’s cost him all but 24 games this season for Lehigh Valley.

Williams and Altherr have hit a combined .210 this season platooning in right field, a position that hasn’t been solidified in Philadelphia since Jayson Werth left after the 2010 season through free agency.

Philadelphia has started different right fielders in every season since Werth left for the Nationals.
