Phillies unsung heroes for first half of 2018 season

Few expected the Phillies to be in playoff position midway through the season

After five consecutive seasons under .500, the Phillies have a legitimate chance for their best record since 2011.

Compiling a 44-37 record at the midpoint of this season, there are several key reasons for the dramatically improved play.

While it’s easy to point out Aaron Nola, Odubel Herrera, Rhys Hoskins and Cesar Hernandez, there are some players quietly contributing in a big way. Here are the unsung heroes for the first half.
