Phillies Opening Day: Five observations from a disappointing loss

The Phillies started their season off poorly with an Opening Day loss to the Braves. Here are five observations from the game.

This was a disappointing way to start the season for the Phillies. After going up 5-0, they lost to 8-5 on a walk-off home run off the bat of Nick Markakis. Manager Gabe Kapler made some questionable decisions along the way that will certainly need to be answered.

This was an Opening Day with many storylines before, during, and after the game. Let’s break down five things we learned from an underwhelming start to the season.
