Since 2008 the Phillies have reached the highest of highs with their World Series victory, and the lowest of lows, being basement dwellers the last few years.

We take a look back at the 10 best offensive seasons over the past 10 years.

10- 2016 Odubel Herrera

Number 10 on the list goes to Odubel Herrera in 2016. Herrera hit .286 with 15 home runs, 49 RBI, 67 runs scored, a slugging percentage of .393, and an OPS of .764.

Herrera’s break out in 2016 would have him selected to the National League all-star team to represent the Phillies.

9- 2012 Carlos Ruiz

At number 9 we have Carlos Ruiz in 2012. Ruiz had many great moments as a Phillie, however 2012 was by far his best offensive season as a whole.

Ruiz would hit .325 with 16 home runs, 68 RBI, 56 runs scored, .540 slugging percentage, and a 935 OPS .

Ruiz would receive his first all-star selection of his career in 2012 for the National League.

8- 2009 Raul Ibanez

In 2009 the Phillies were looking to fill the void in left field left by losing Pat Burrell, and did so by signing Raul Ibanez.

Ibanez did not disappoint, as he produced great numbers throughout the 2009 season.

He would hit .272 with 34 home runs, 93 RBI, 93 run scored, a .552 slugging percentage, and an OPS of .899.

7-2009 Jayson Werth

In 2009 Jayson Werth would take a step forward and produce great numbers. Werth would hit .268 which is not spectacular, however would make up for it in the power department.

He hit 36 home runs, had 99 RBI, and would add 98 runs scored with a slugging percentage of .506, an OPS of .879 and would also add 20 stolen bases.

Another 2009 Phillies makes the list with Shane Victorino.

Victorino produced all around solid numbers, batting .292 with 10 home runs, 62 RBI, 102 runs scored, slugging percentage of .445, OPS of 803 and 25 stolen bases.

5- 2008 Shane Victorino

Victorino makes the list again for his performance in 2008, and was a major reason the Phillies were able to make it to the Post Season and ultimately win the World Series.

He batted .293 with 14 home runs, 58 RBI, 102 runs scored, a slugging percentage of .447, OPS of .799 an 36 stolen bases.

4-2008 Ryan Howard

Victorino’s World Series teammate Ryan Howard comes in at number 4 for the 2008 season.

Howard struck fear into pitchers in 2008, producing elite power number with 48 home runs, 146 RBI, and a slugging percentage of .543.

He would finish with an OPS of .881 as well.

The reason Howard’s 2008 season does not rank higher on the list, is he struggled in the batting average department, hitting .251.

Our second-to-last 2009 Phillie on the list is Chase Utley.

Utley was a solid contributor out of the three hole, batting. 282 with 31 home runs, 93 RBI, 112 runs scored, a slugging percentage of . 509, and an OPS of 905.

He would also create some trouble on the base paths, adding 23 stolen bases.

Number 2 on the list also belongs to Chase Utley.

Utley was among the games elite in 2008, as he would produce across the board with an average of .292, 33 home runs, 104 RBI, 113 runs scored, a slugging percentage of .535 and an OPS of .915, and 14 stolen bases.

The number one spot on the list of greatest Phillies offensive seasons in the past 10 years belongs to none other than the big piece, Ryan Howard.

In 2009 Howard would finish third in the MLB voting for his stellar offensive season.

Howard hit .279 with 45 home runs, 141 RBI, 105 runs scored, a 571 slugging percentage, and an OPS of .931.

Along with the great numbers at the plate, Howard would surprisingly also have 8 stolen bases during the 2009 season.

The elite power numbers, mixed with a solid batting average, and being able to also contribute on the base paths, contribute to why Howard’s 2009 season was the best offensive season by a Phillies in the last 10 years.
