On Monday night, the Phillies kick off their final homestand of the 2017 season against the Nationals for a three game series at Citizens Bank Park.

The Washington Nationals, who already clinched the National League East, are in town to face the Phillies in the final homestand of the 2017 regular season. They look to begin the three-game series on a good note.

Game one has Aaron Nola on the mound  as he faces A.J. Cole and the Nationals. Both starters will be making their final start of the 2017 season. Nola is 12-10 with a ERA of 3.56.

Good for Philadelphia, superstar outfielder Bryce Harper will not make his return from the disabled list Monday due to illness. Reportedly, he was scheduled to make his return from a knee injury.

In his last start, against the Dodgers, Nola went seven innings only allowing two runs. He got the victory as the Phils topped the Dodgers 6-2.

The series opener begins at 7:05pm and can be watched locally on CSN Philadelphia and listened to on 94 WIP. Additionally, the game is the free game of the day on MLB.tv.

Game two of the three game series against the Nationals is another night game, beginning at 7:05pm.

Jake Thompson is scheduled to take the mound.

This is his final start of the 2017 season, and possibly, his last start in the rotation if the team goes after top notch starters this year in free agency.

Entering the game, Thompson has a record of 2-2 and his ERA sits at 4.14. He will square off against Gio Gonzalez who has himself a pretty good season as he is 15-7 for the 2017 season.

Harper could make his return from the disabled list Tuesday night, after landing on the disabled list following a gruesome injury while slipping on a wet first base.

Game three and the final game of the series as the series concludes will be a night game at Citizens Bank. Mark Leiter Jr. will be on the mound for the Phillies as he is 3-6. This could also be his last start in the rotation.
