Let’s play two! A rain delay forces a Wednesday Phillies/Braves doubleheader
Phillies fans get a double-dose of baseball this afternoon as the team prepares to face the Atlanta Braves twice following Tuesday’s washout.
Jerad Eickhoff looks to have turned a corner in a season where his pitches haven’t been as effective. His walks are up and strikeouts are down despite the nasty curveball that induces punch outs and groundballs.
His counterpart on the mound will be R.A. Dickey, who owns a 6-5 record with a 2.76 ERA in 15 starts versus Philadelphia.

- Rhys Hoskins, LF
- Tommy Joseph, 1B
- Maikel Franco, 3B
- Pedro Florimon, CF

I’m curious as to why Alfaro is hitting in the eight spot considering his bat has been excellent this year.

In his last outing against Philly Dickey held the team to one unearned run over seven innings while striking out eight. Philadelphia walked away with a 2-1 victory against Atlanta on July 30.
