Kruk was a beloved member of the Phillies 1993 National League pennant club

With Matt Stairs moving from the broadcast booth to the dugout the Phillies and Comcast SportsNet needed to make another change to the television crew.

As rumored for months, former ESPN baseball analyst and Phillies Wall of Famer John Kruk will join Tom McCarthy in the booth. Kruk will split time as the color analyst with Ben Davis, who returns for his second season in the booth.

Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt will also return to bring some color to the home weekend series, and Gregg Murphy will return as the “man in the stands.”

“I am looking forward to working with Tom, Mike, Ben and Gregg,” Kruk said in a statement. “Although I have played with three different organizations, the Phillies are family. I am excited to get started with this new chapter in my life.”

Kruk played 6 of his 10 major league seasons with the Phillies, earning three All-Star selections and finishing in the top-20 in MVP three straight years. Krukkie hit .309 with the Phils and was a key member of the 1993 National League championship team.

In addition to getting a new job, Kruk placed his home in Naples, Florida on the market with a price tag just short of $3 million. If you can afford a $10,000/month mortgage over 30 years and want to sleep in the same bed as Kruk, now is your chance.

Kruk will officially make his CSN Philly broadcast debut on February 25 from Clearwater, Florida.
