Lehigh Valley is known for their unique jerseys, but these latest ones will revolutionize the industry
The Iron Pigs have officially announced their new line of uniforms for their 10th anniversary season. They’ve already gone with the bacon scented apparel and the cheesesteak wit/wit out.
This year, the lettering and logo’s will feature a new reflective material that will illuminate at night and with the flash of cameras.
The team released a video featuring the jerseys, which are of course going on sale for the holidays, along with a statement.
"In celebration of the club’s 10th anniversary season in 2017, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs will debut an innovative new on-field primary home uniform from Majestic® featuring the first-ever jersey in professional baseball to include reflective twill and number technology. The new on-field jersey uses reflective material that was formulated via low candle power that allows it to reflect and illuminate vividly when in close proximity to flash photography. The brand-new on-field cap features the iconic primary IronPigs logo carved in gold. The 10th anniversary on-field and retail collection – including Cool Base® replica jerseys with reflective twill technology and the brand-new on-field gold cap design – is now available online. The collection is also now available at the Majestic Clubhouse Store at Coca-Cola Park, with the exception of the new reflective jersey, which will be available for in-store purchase beginning on Black Friday at 8 a.m."
Creativity and coolness aside, the Iron Pigs nailed the use of the gold in their uniforms. They incorporated it much better than the Flyers 50th anniversary sweaters.
I think the hat is just as cool, but not $35 cool enough that I’d buy it.
