The bullpen ultimately failed Lakewood’s offense, which saw seven of their nine hitters reach base safely. While starter Jose Tevaras allowed four runs in six innings, the real damage was done by right hander Robert Tasin. The reliever allowed three runs in the top of the ninth right after a Lakewood rally that brought the Blueclaws within one run.

The eighth inning rally was capped off by a three-run home run by Jose Pujols. The outfielder now has nine home runs this season, five of which have come in May.

The Blueclaws will look to end their three game losing-skid when the send Tyler Gilbert (1-4) to the mound Tuesday.
