The Cutters return to action Wednesday as the New York-Penn League All-Star Game took place Tuesday. The North and South tied 1-1 after nine innings.
LAKEWOOD BLUECLAWS:
The BlueClaws were rained out Tuesday night against the West Virginia Power.
CLEARWATER THRESHERS:
Miguel Nunez went 4.2 innings and allowed eight hits and two earned runs in 4-3 Threshers loss in game one of a doubleheader against the Daytona Cubs.
The Cubs scored in the bottom of the eight inning for a walk-off win.
Brian Pointer drove in three runs, going 2-for-4 with a two-run homer.
READING FIGHTIN’ PHILS:
The Reading bullpen allowed six runs in an 8-3 loss to the Bowie Baysox, spoing Aaron Nola‘s third Double-A start.
Nola went five innings and gave up two earned runs on five hits while striking out a pair.
Jake Fox served as designated hitter and went 2-for-2 with a home run. He walked twice in the game and has a .321 average.
LEHIGH VALLEY IRONPIGS:
Jason Marquis allowed seven earned runs in 5.1 innings of work as the IronPigs were blanked 7-0 Tuesday by the Pawtucket Red Sox.
Lehigh Valley left ten runners stranded.
Maikel Franco had a three-hit night with a double.
John Mayberry, Jr. started a rehab assignment for his ailing wrist. He played right field and batted fourth, going 2-for-4.
