The Philadelphia Phillies will look to avoid another series sweep today as they face off against the San Francisco Giants this afternoon. The Phillies come into this game with a 43-58 record, and after losing four straight games, the team is now 13 games back in the NL East division.

Cole Hamels is on the mound for the Phils today to face Tim Hudson. This will be yet another crucial game for another Phillies pitcher, as the trade deadline is nearby. This outing could impact his trade value, assuming there is even a glimmer of hope for other teams to acquire the ace. The Phillies have said they do not wish to trade Hamels, but anything could happen for the right deal.

Hamels comes in with a record of 4-5 and a 2.83 ERA. Hudson is 8-6 on the year with an ERA of 2.78.

Ryan Howard is not in the lineup for the second straight game. Darin Ruf will take his place at first base and hit 6th.
