Emotional reaction immediately afterwards
Damn it, Papelbon! Damn it!
Less emotional, more optimistic reaction after thinking about it a bit
At least Kendrick pitched well and Howard hit a homer against a lefty.
Hero
Shin-soo Choo showed an amazing eye as he took a couple of very good pitches with the bases loaded and drew a walk to score the winning run.
Goat
Jonathan Papelbon entered the ninth with a two-run lead. He exited the game with the Rangers celebrating.
Today’s game
The Phillies will be off today. They’ll be traveling to Chicago to start a three-game series with the Cubs on Friday.

The Good Phight – Phillies bullpen mismanagement same as it ever was
Charlie Manuel was notoriously stubborn in the way he utilized his relievers. There was some hope that Ryne Sandberg would be an improvement in that regard. However, Sandberg’s bullpen management in Tuesday’s loss to the Rangers was very reminiscent of Manuel’s days at the helm. Should the Phillies have lost the game without closer Jonathan Papelbon ever entering the game?
