Cody Asche Promoted So You Have Something to Believe in
By Justin Klugh

Hell, you could have been right in the middle of your own whiny, despondent post about how ghastly of a series this will be with the last place Giants.
When suddenly, Jeff Passan sprinkled some fairy dust on your day.

Matt Gelb echoed him, and we were off to the races. Only the race was off a cliff, and into a churning sea of lost chances sorry. I’m still sort of writing that other post.
Fun enough on its own, we now get to speculate things. Hey, here’s one – Michael Young’s being traded.
That’s cool. If the Phillies are ready to try Asche out, then Young, an obvious trade piece desired by many teams – all in the AL, if you can believe it – is running to catch a train. With around 27 hours left before the trade deadline, this was the one move that was pretty unanimously pined for by those outside the loop.
What comes next is a crapshoot. Word is the Red Sox are hemming and hawing over just how many cash money prospects are worth the 34-year-old. Ruben Amaro says three or four.
Of course,
Sources: #Phillies’ Michael Young only approve trade to #Rangers. Has full no-trade clause.
