Former Phillies from the 1993 team are remembering the late Darren Daulton

Darren Daulton passed away at the age of 55 Sunday evening, and his former teammates from the 1993 team are paying homage.

Lenny Dykstra paid tribute to Dutch on Facebook with a 5 a.m. video and written statement. Dykstra remembers how when he was incarcerated Dutch wrote a letter to the judge handling his case.

"After four years of battling brain cancer, my dear friend and great teammate, Darren Daulton, has passed away. “Dutch” was the unquestionable leader of our 1993 Phillies team that went from last place to first place, as we swaggered our way to the World Series. Dutch was a warrior, a gamer, the kind of teammate you wanted in your foxhole. Dutch was a man! The toughest player I ever played with.My thoughts and prayers go out to Darren’s family.I will miss you Dutch.Lenny Dykstra"

Here’s the video from Dykstra’s Facebook page from early this morning.

Also paying tribute was one of the men Dutch caught during the ’93 pennant chase, Curt Schilling. A fellow Wall of Famer, Schilling expressed his thoughts on social media.

Schilling also addressed Dutch passing on his Breitbart radio show this morning, but we won’t make you listen to that.

Finally, color analyst and teammate of Daulton’s John Kruk released a statement on Twitter embracing his teammate and fellow Wall of Famer.

"Tonight the Phillies lost a true legend and those of us who were lucky enough to be his teammate lost a brother! Could not have asked for a better teammate and friend. Prayers for his entire family at this time. I love you Bubba!!!"

Services for Dutch will be private, however, expect the Phillies to honor Daulton during Alumni Weekend this week.
