The news of St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Oscar Taveras and his girlfriend dying in a car crash on Sunday has saddened the baseball world.  The Philadelphia Phillies organization is no exception and many members of the organization took to social media to share their thoughts.

Taveras, just 22 at his passing, made his MLB debut on May 31st.  The Phillies got a taste of what was expected to come of such a talented young player as he went 5-for-11 in three games against them.

The car accident occurred in Taveras’ home country, the Dominican Republic.
