Preview

After last night’s setback, the Phillies will look to rebound tonight and win the series against the Rockies. Despite the loss, last night’s game was not without interest as Ben Revere actually hit a home run. Yes, that’s right. Despite losing 6-2, Revere actually hit his first career major league home run.

WOOHOO!

Roberto Hernandez is on the mound for Philadelphia. He suffered a loss in his most recent start, surrendering two runs in 6.1 innings against the Dodgers. The 33-year old is 2-2 on the year with a 3.83 ERA.

Rockies pitcher Jordan Lyles comes in with an ERA of 3.45. When he faced the Phillies in April, he pitched seven shutout innings and earned the win.

After a day off, Ryan Howard is back in the cleanup spot tonight, while Cesar Hernandez will once again play third base and bat eighth. However, despite hitting his first home run of the season last night, Darin Ruf returns to the bench. I suppose Sandberg figured that with Revere in the lineup, they didn’t really need Ruf’s power.
