The offseason front office changes continued for the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday afternoon.

Per Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Phillies made a number of changes and promotions in their front office structure.

The biggest moves are a pair of promotions to assistant general manager roles. Brian Barber, the head of amateur scouting, and Preston Mattingly, the head of player development, are now adding the assistant GM titles to their job descriptions. They'll both remain in their current roles as well.

Barber, 50, was named director of amateur scouting for the Phillies in the fall of 2019, per Baseball Reference. The former pitcher appeared in the big leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals before scouting for the New York Yankees.

Mattingly, 36, was installed as the director of player development by the Phillies in September 2021. The son of Don Mattingly, he played six seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers' minor league system.

The other announced moves, per Lauber, include Sal Agostinelli moving into a senior advisor role. Agostinelli, 62, had been the Phillies' international scouting director since 1997, and before that was their Northeast scouting supervisor starting in 1993.

Derrick Chung, 35, will take Agostinelli's spot as the head of international scouting. Chung, a former 31st-round draft pick of the Blue Jays, played in Toronto's minor league system from 2011 until 2015. He became a scout for the Phillies in 2016.

Connor Betbeze will become an assistant director of international scouting, while Edwin Soto will be promoted to assistant director of player development.
