It's time to start getting excited, baseball fans! We're less than two weeks away from pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training and two months away from the regular season. The Philadelphia Phillies will open training camp in their usual location in Clearwater, Florida, on Feb. 12, and before you know it, Opening Day for the 2025 regular season will be upon us.

The Phillies have had a relatively quiet offseason, but who hasn't compared to the spend-happy Los Angeles Dodgers? Thanks to racking up a payroll full of stars over the last few years that now eclipses the highest luxury tax threshold, Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski has had a spend-thrift attitude in guiding the front office's three free agent signings and one significant trade this winter.

But that's okay. Once the regular season starts, we'll have six months — hopefully a full seven with a long playoff run — of watching one of the best teams in MLB take the field day in and day out.

When the Phillies break camp, they'll be heading north, but not to Philadelphia, unfortunately. They have a pitstop in Washington to open the 2025 MLB season with a three-game series against the NL East rival Nationals. Opening Day is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, with a day off on Friday in case they get rained out like they did last season.

After their opening weekend in Washington, the Phillies will head home for their 2025 home opener at Citizens Bank Park on Monday, March 31. With the Colorado Rockies in town for three games, the home opener is scheduled for a 3:05 p.m. ET start. There will no doubt be plenty of ceremony and pageantry leading up to the first pitch as the Phillies kick off a season in which their goal is to return to the World Series for the first time since 2022.

The Phillies' home opener will be marked by the first of a season full of special promotions. Opening Day presented by Nemours Children's Health will feature an incredible giveaway with all fans in attendance receiving a 2024 NL East Champions Pennant.

The two teams will have a day off on Tuesday, scheduled in case of a Monday rainout, followed by Game 2 on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. ET and the series finale on Thursday at 1:05 p.m. ET.

In 2024, Zack Wheeler took the ball as the Phillies' Opening Day starter, and he'll likely get the nod again this year in Washington. Who will start the home opener for the Phillies? Depending on how they set their rotation out of spring training, fans might see Cristopher Sánchez, Ranger Suárez or even newcomer Jesús Luzardo take the bump at The Bank.
