5 Phillies players poised for 2021 All-Star consideration
By Matt Rappa

2. Rhys Hoskins
Five-year veteran first baseman Rhys Hoskins appeared in the 2018 Home Run Derby along with his future teammate Bryce Harper, but he has yet to earn a spot on an All-Star roster.
Hoskins has reached base in eight straight games, in which the team has posted a 6-2 record. During a six-game stretch from April 20-26, Hoskins slugged six home runs and nine RBI spanning just 25 at-bats.
This season, the Phillies are 4-2 in games that Hoskins has homered, and are 7-4 in games in which he has at least one RBI. Hoskins ranking first among National League first baseman in runs scored, doubles, and home runs should at least put him into consideration for an All-Star bench spot.

While he has yet to earn a trip while donning red pinstripes, he is putting up numbers that should put him into consideration in 2021 — even after missing several games due to a wrist injury following the Genesis Cabrera hit-by-pitch.
