The other current Phillie in the two packs of baseball cards is Rhys Hoskins.

That find is also timely, as Hoskins took part in a video game competition on MLB The Show 20 against the Miami Marlins’ Miguel Rojas on what would have been opening day.

The first baseman has 81 HR, 229 RBI and a .239/.364/.494 slash line across three seasons in the majors.

Last season, he recorded 29 HR, 85 RBI, a National League-leading 116 walks and a .226/.364/.454 slash line. His hitting was not so great, but all those walks helped his on-base percentage.

Hoskins has 93 HR, 337 RBI, 211 walks and a .287/.375/.532 slash line across four seasons in the minors. He has potential, but better hitting should be the top goal for Hoskins this year.

As far as former Phillies are concerned, there are a few cards to note.

Cleveland Indians first baseman Carlos Santana is known for his nine seasons and counting with the Indians, but he also spent a season in Philadelphia.

Santana declined a qualifying offer from Cleveland to sign a three-year, $60 million deal with the Phillies in Dec. 2017, appearing in all but one game during the 2018 season.

Santana hit 24 HR, 86 RBI and .229/.352/.414 for Philadelphia, while being walked 110 times (sound familiar?).

The switch hitter was part of the Jean Segura trade with the Seattle Mariners, spending just over a week as a Mariner before being part of a trade for Edwin Encarnacion, sending Santana back to Cleveland.

Overall, he has 232 HR, 766 RBI, 944 walks and a .250/.367/.450 slash line across ten seasons in the majors.
