Jorge Alfaro

At first glance of his statistics, one wouldn’t think Alfaro has had much of an impact this season. He’s hitting just .251 with a .297 on-base percentage, five home runs and 82 strikeouts in 196 at-bats.  He also has eight passed balls, but has been instrumental in shutting down opponents on the base paths.

Alfaro has displayed his gun behind the plate numerous times, in fact he’s gunned down 15 would be base stealers, most in the league. He’s nailed 32 percent of stolen base attempts, fourth in the Major Leagues.

His power at the plate is undeniable, hitting some of the longest home runs this season.  Improving his contact is a must, but with more experience he will do that, increasing his home runs.  Alfaro will become an increasingly valuable asset as the season progresses.
