Game 3: Hellickson vs Velasquez

The first of two afternoon games begins in game three of the series, as first pitch is 6:05pm.

Jeremy Hellickson (WSH): Hellickson is expected to be activated from the 10-day disabled list in time to make this start. However, Washington has not officially announced this roster move and his second start against Philadelphia is still probable.

Hellickson has proved to be a difficult pitcher to defeat this season, going 2-0 with a 2.28 ERA and thirty-four strikeouts. He has not played a big league game since June 3 against the Atlanta Braves when he suffered a hamstring injury. In games Hellickson has started, Washington is 6-3.

Vince Velasquez (PHI): In the midst of a rocky season, Velasquez looks to turn things around in this start against the Nationals. In his last seven games, the right-hander is 1-4 with a 5.08 ERA. He has only started against Washington one time this season.

On May 5, Vince Velasquez pitched five complete one-run innings, and despite only striking out four batters, the Phillies would win that game in what would be just his second win of the season.
