Bullpen

Nothing has really changed with the bullpen since spring training started. None of the non-roster invitees have stood out. Meanwhile, the favorites for the last few spots have done nothing to indicate they will lose those spots. This leaves the bullpen looking as follows:

  • Hector Neris (Closer)
  • Pat Neshek
  • Tommy Hunter
  • Adam Morgan
  • Luis Garcia
  • Mark Leiter, Jr.
  • Edubray Ramos
  • Hoby Milner

Neris, Neshek, Hunter, Morgan, and Garcia are all locks for relief roles. Leiter, Jr. is part of the conversation for a starting spot but he is better served as a long reliever.

Ramos and Milner are the two that most need to earn their place on the roster. Milner has pitched well this spring, while Ramos started off poorly before having better outings recently. He did well enough at the end of last season to warrant another chance in the majors. Plus he is already on the 40-man roster.
